Gaby, your writing is sharing the Hiwi the Kiwi message. We need to be safe in the water and wear a life jacket on a boat. You also shared about the need to make sure your fish is the right size. Remember when you are publishing to make sure you check the spelling and punctuation is correct. Remember to make sure you punctuate your speech and tell the reader who is talking to help make the message even clearer, (Also there is always 1 space after a full stop)

My goals are important to me

Reflection Questions

I think
My learning partner thinks
I can read my
goals
yes because most of them are simple
yes because gaby has good goals
My goals are specific
yes because i no what to do for my next goal yes because gaby knows what her goals are going to be
My goals are measurable
yes because they are not to big and not to small
yes because its just the right size
My goals are important to me
yes because i have to complete  (them or how will i learn any thing?)
yes because gaby has to complete them
You have thought hard about goals that are going to help you as a learner. Planning maintenance and knowledge early in the week will help make sure you get all the must dos done on time. If you always make sure you are paying attention when we are having class chats you be able to share your ideas and know what to do!

Kahoot - reading

WALT: use our prior knowledge to help us understand what we read.  (Get it)
Task: use the ‘get it, sort it, use it’ model of inquiry to find out about the commonwealth games and share what we have learned.

WALT: use our prior knowledge to help us understand what we read.  (Get it)
WALT: Summarise what we read to help us understand what we read.   (Get it and Sort it)
WALT: use what we have learned from our reading. (Use it)

Success Criteria
ü 10 questions
ü Only one correct answer per question
ü Clear questions (not ambiguous)
ü Image matches the question

Reflection Questions

I followed the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process by…helping it make sence  because otherwise none will understand

My next step when I use the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process is…to make it tell when it was on

The fun part of the Get it, Sort it, Use it inquiry process was…

You have thought about your learning and used your reading strategies to help as you read to make meaning and grow your understanding and knowledge. It can be tricky to make sure the questions are clear (not ambiguous) and you only have one answer!
You have stated reflecting on your learning. Remember when reflecting and thinking about your learning to add more details and go a little deeper, adding a 'because' to your ideas might help. Reflecting about your learning helps you to grow as a learner, to think about what was tricky and to set goals.

  • trying our best pronunciation

yes but it was very hard to use the right words
she tried her hardest to say the right words
My animation matched my words
yes but sometimes i got mixed up
sometimes some got mixed up
What did I find challenging?
having to try again and again
having to try again and again
What did I like about…
i liked learning how to say new words in maori
i liked how she showed part
You and Atlanta worked well together to create an animation with clear voices and great pronunciation. I love that you used a script to help you make sure you knew what you were going to say next and the animation was smooth.
Perhaps next time you could use more movement in the animation, when you are saying goodbye maybe the character could leave to help the animation match the words.

Writing

Grasshopper Tennis

Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.46.38 pm.png

WALT: improve our small ball skills and racket control skills.

Success Criteria
I think
My buddy thinks
I can balance and move the tennis ball on my racket.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.35 pm.pngI cant because it dose not stay on my racket.

I can use the ‘temple’ position to hit the ball across the net to my partner.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.23 pm.pngnot really because the ball keep on running away from me.
I can use my skills to play games like ‘just juice’ and ‘lobster tennis’.
Screen Shot 2014-06-26 at 1.54.23 pm.pngI cant really because the ball dose not let me hit it to my partner.
Use the smiley faces to help in your assessment…

Choose which smiley face you are and add a because to explain why that is what you have chosen.

When you slow down and watch carefully you can control the ball on your racket and hit the ball to your buddy over the net. It can be tricky playing those 'tennis' games but remember you don't have to win all the points to have loads of fun.
